Our Story
A Century of Farming & Friendship
Long before it became a Christmas tree destination, this land was owned by the Duval and Lemire families. Named "Noel" after Noel Lemire, the property has always been a cornerstone of the local community. The Duval, Lemire, and Kessler families are all century-old Southern New Hampshire farming families who have known and worked alongside each other for generations.
Back in the early 1900s, the Kesslers, Duvals, and Lemires were trading cows, sharing agricultural equipment, and supporting one another's homesteads.
From Dairy to Christmas Trees
Before purchasing the tree farm from the Duval and Lemire families, the Kessler family operated a historic dairy farm just over the bridge in Nashua, New Hampshire. For over 100 years, the Kesslers were deeply involved in local agriculture — at one point running what was once the biggest dairy farm in the entire state of New Hampshire.
As the decades passed, the landscape of local farming evolved. Later in the 1900s, Paul Lemire converted the Noel property into a dedicated tree farm. Around that same time, a new family tradition was born.
In 1971, after returning home from serving in the Vietnam War, George Kessler — who grew up on the family's dairy farm — spearheaded the family's first Christmas tree sales. The Kesslers have been proudly bringing holiday cheer to the area ever since. Eventually George and his son would go on to purchase Noel's Tree Farm.
Keeping Traditions Alive Today
Today, Noel's Tree Farm is proudly run by George, his children, and his grandchildren — and the great people of the local community. We hope that our great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren will continue the legacy.
